....Yeah

It's been about 2 months since my last post and we have so much to update you all on! First off, spending Christmas at home was such a treat. Although our time was short we enjoyed spending time with family and friends. A wonderful and delicious Christmas eve dinner with family, board games, zoo lights, dairy queen and sleeping in were just a few things we did.  The only downside of the entire trip was that I came down with a cold for the beginning of our stay. On the plane ride back I also suffered from food poisoning. NOT FUN.

On a better note here are A LOT of pictures to recap our adventures in Oregon:

Since we got home from Oregon, Dan and I have been adjusting to a smaller ward. We went from a solid 200 members down to a mere 100. While it may not seem small, it is small for us. In addition to a smaller ward we received a new bishop! He is my VT companion's husband. He's wonderful and is doing a great job.

Dan and I have both given talks in Sacrament. I received many compliments on mine and Dan's talk was very inspirational. Dan is also the young men's president. We are very grateful for our ward. We feel very blessed.

There's not much else to share. Work and school are going well for me. Last week I did my renal rotation and visited a dialysis clinic for 2 days. I learned so much! I'm not sure if I want to be a renal dietitian due to the emotional aspect of it but I will definitely look into this profession more. This week my fellow interns and I prepared materials for National Nutrition Month which starts on the 1st of March. National nutrition month is sponsored by the American Dietetic Association. This campaign is launched with a different emphasis each year. This year's theme is Eat Right With Color. For more information http://www.eatright.org/nnm/. To promote it we're decorating the hospital's cafeteria with all sorts of fruits and vegetables. We're also providing handouts on recipes that incorporate fruits and vegetables. I'm excited!

Also, on Wednesday I did a Spinathon to celebrate national recreational sports & fitness day. My campus's gym hosted it and took donations for the humane society. Throughout the 2 hour spin-fest I thought about the cute doggies that would be receiving my gifts. Not only did we get a free shirt but we also were given free food! Another great incentive for doing the spinathon lol.

I keep thinking about registering for a half-marathon for early this summer but something keeps me back. I always rationalize not signing up by telling myself once I run 6 miles comfortably then I'll sign up or I won't have enough time to train. But I need to push those thoughts out and just bite the bullet and register...soon.

One big piece of news that I have is that next month I will being going (or coming depending on who you are) home! I plan to see everyone so save some time to see me! I cannot wait.

I love your blogs and how they keep us updated. Glad you enjoyed your time home and glad you're coming out again, it's our treat. I wish Dan could come out also. I miss him too. Love you both.
